Giants VS Ravens Review/Analysis Week 6

Positives

Defense
The box score might not say it all but this defense played well. The defense had two goal line stands that’s right the New York Giants defense had 2 goal line stands. I don’t remember the last time the Giants have been able to do that certainly not anytime in the last 5 years. Jonathan Casillas and Mark Herzlich made the touchdown saving tackles. Landon Collins continued his strong season with 12 tackles 1 sack and a TFL (Tackle For Loss). Jason Pierre Paul flashed throughout the game making plays and getting pressures he also had a nice batted pass. The refs really made it tough on the Giants defense today with multiple drive extending penalties. Highlighted by the most egregious call that came against DRC which was just not Pass interference. The Giants defense kept them in the game the whole way and did just enough for the victory.

Eli OBJ & The Second Half Offense
Eli completed 32 of 46 passes for 403 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was a great game from Eli which was much needed after the 3 game slump. Him and OBJ connected for 222 (Career High) and 2 touchdowns Odell looked amazing and Eli took advantage they truly put on a show. Odell had two huge plays one going for a 75 yd touchdown the other going for 66 yds. Him and the kicking net have become a regular thing now as he seems to interact with it every time he scores. This big game will definitely help take some of the criticism off the duo.

Negatives

Officiating
The biggest negative in this game wasn’t even the Giants fault. I am pretty sure the Ravens had the Zebras on their side this week. I mean there was multiple questionable calls. They did not call the game evenly whatsoever. If you call it tight you call it tight if you are gonna let them play you let them play. You cannot go back and forth between the two. The call that will be talked about is the one against DRC but the Giants prevailed despite the horrible calls.

Really sums up the officiating.

Run Game
The Giants once again couldn’t run the ball. They ran the ball 17 times for 38 yards at 2.2 yards per carry. That has to change for the Giants to go on a win streak. The return of Rashad Jennings did nothing for the run game. This offensive line played well overall in terms of pass blocking. It is the run game that they need to crank it up for. The offensive line needs to find that nasty streak to run the ball to free up the pass and help keep the defense fresh.

Overall
The Giants moved to 3-3 under Ben McAdoo and wins are at a premium in this league. There will almost always be things to correct but Ben McAdoo coached this team to a win and got back to 500 which is huge for the Giants in the division. The Giants faced diversity today and they came up with the win and that reflects on Ben McAdoo just like the losses do. It’s a good win for the Giants they were in a tight spot and came away with the win so they did their job. They also escaped just about injury free have to wait until monday to see for sure.
