Giants Vs Vikings Preview/Prediction Week 4

This Will Not Be The Game The Offense Breaks Out

The Giants offense has not been what was expected this year. If you looked at the stats you would think the Giants offense is soaring. Stats can be misleading that is well known. The Giants rank third in total offense. They face a stiff test this week in Minnesota’s top ranked defense. Led by star defensive tackle former Giant Linval Joesph. The Vikings defensive front is one of the best in the NFL. Under rated defensive Everson Griffen makes plays and has been having an impact early in the season. Left tackle Ereck Flowers has been having a rough season so far he already has three penalties to his name. The Giants lost Shane Vereen for the season to a tricep injury which leaves Orleans Darkwa and Bobby Rainey to carry the load. Rashad Jennings was out for the Washington game and is questionable for tomorrow night. The Giants Will struggle to run the ball monday night against the Vikings. I don not like the Giants chances in this game. Eli will take at least two sacks, throw an interception and he may even be responsible for another lost fumble. The Vikings defense will unfortunately overwhelm the Giants offense.

The Secondary Is In Trouble

Eli Apple left the Giants game early in the second quarter last week and has not practiced all week. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie also left the game not much later with a groin injury. That is just the start of the injuries. Darian Thompson (S) is out as well as (S) Nat Berhe. That leaves veteran corners Leon Hall Janoris Jenkins and Trevin Wade to man the corner spots. Landon Collins and Andrew Adams are the only healthy safeties on the roster. The Vikings wide receiver core does not strike fear into the opponent. Laquan Treadwell has not developed yet, but Stefon Diggs has shown the ability to take over a game if left unchecked. The Giants will be seeing a familiar face in Sam Bradford who is 2-1 in his career vs the Giants. The Vikings will be without Adrian Peterson the sure fire hall of famer. If the Giants can limit Stefon Diggs impact this game they have a chance. The Giants rank fifth against the run this season. Although they did wear down late in the game vs the Redskins they have been solid so far. Kyle Rudolph can also be a mismatch in the red zone.

Prediction

Giants:14
The Giants should be 3-0 but they are 2-1 and I dong see them advancing to 3-1 in this game. Minnesota’s defense will be too much for the Giants and their over matched offensive line. The Giants fall to 2-2 amid a division of surging teams.

Vikings:24
Sam Bradford and the Vikings offense will be set up with a few short fields putting the Giant defense in tough spots. They will do just enough this game. The real story will be about the Vikings defense holding one of the top offenses to 14 points.
