Giants Vs Texans Preview Week 3

Giants Vs Texans Preview
Last week was rough and my prediction couldn’t have been any more wrong. The Giants are looking to compete against the Texans today. In a surprise move, they benched Ereck Flowers so now undrafted Swing tackle Chad Wheeler start in his place. It will be a tough go for anyone against JJ Watt, but the Giants are no longer content with Ereck Flowers and his lack of execution. Chad Wheeler has a big task ahead of him today and his performance can make or break this offense.

The Giants defense will also be tested today with the absence of the ascending Eli Apple and Olivier Vernon. Two key pieces to a defense that struggles against running QBs. Lorenzo Carter has been playing well and will start in place of Olivier Vernon. B.W. Webb will start for Eli Apple. His performance last week was not promising. Matched up against the speedster Will Fuller this week he will have his hands full. Landon Collins needs to step up as well as Janoris Jenkins who has been beaten deep twice already.

Matchups To Watch

Contain On Deshaun Watson
Deshaun Watson is faster and better than Dak Prescott. The Giants have had problems with running QBs for years. For the Giants to have a chance this week they must contain Deshaun Watson. That means no crashing for Conor Barwin and no getting beat in the hole like Kareem Martin last week. The Giants need edge discipline and to get off blocks and make plays to have a chance today.

Secondary Vs WR’s
The Texans have a strong WR core led by Deandre Hopkins and Will Fuller. They complement each other well and they will both likely get thier fair share of work today. Janoris Jenkins is expected to shadow Deandre Hopkins. This will be his toughest matchup this season. B.W. will have to make sure he doesn’t get beat deep against Will Fuller and if he does Curtis Riley needs to take better angles. This could be a rough game for the secondary especially if Deshaun Watson escapes the pocket.

Offensive Line Vs Offensive Line
Last week the Giants O-line got nothing right. They allowed Eli to be sacked 6 times and it was an abysmal performance. They benched the biggest liability in Ereck Flowers so hopefully, there is some improvement. The Giants need to pick up assignments this game and just block better period. It is the Houston Texans and JJ Watt, but there will be a premier pass rusher every week and they have to be better.

Prediction
Giants 17
Texans 28
